Menstruation is a natural and healthy process that affects millions of women around the world. However, many girls and women in rural areas lack access to safe and hygienic menstrual products, which can lead to health problems, social stigma, and school dropout. To address this issue, a group of students and entrepreneurs have joined hands to distribute sanitary pants to girls in need.
Sanitary pants are reusable pants with easy care that can be worn during menstruation. They are highly durable and can be used for up to 3 years. They are made of bamboo fabric that is friendly to both human skin and our environment. They are designed to provide comfort, protection, and confidence to the wearer.
The distribution of sanitary pants was carried out under the Saathi project, in association with KCS Foundation. The Saathi project is an initiative led by Ahana Kotibhaskar, an A-level student from a prestigious school in London. She aims to create awareness about female hygiene and eliminate the stigma associated with menstruation. She believes that every girl deserves to have a dignified and comfortable period.
The KCS Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Mr. Pankaj Kumar Jha, an educational entrepreneur based in Dubai. The foundation has been instrumental in bringing many projects to promote women education and skill training in rural areas. Mr. Jha expressed his determination to bring more women empowerment oriented projects to the communities he serves.
The distribution of sanitary pants was done in collaboration with Vidya Vatika Public School. All the girls above 12 years of age were provided a sanitary pants kit, which included two pairs of pants, a wash bag, and an instruction manual. The Vidya Vatika team also facilitated the distribution of these kits in nearby government schools.
The recipients of the sanitary pants were delighted and grateful for the gesture. They said that the pants would make their lives easier and happier. They also appreciated the efforts of the Saathi project and the KCS Foundation for raising awareness and breaking the taboo around menstruation.
The distribution of sanitary pants was a successful and meaningful event that showcased the power of collaboration and compassion. It was a step towards women empowerment and social change that will have a lasting impact on the lives of many girls and women.
